DR. JENNIFER LETITIA, MD

Originally a medical doctor trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Hand Surgery, Dr. Letitia changed her medical focus to functional medicine. She found that conventional medicine does not always recognize or comprehensively address many health issues. As a functional medicine physician, she felt she could genuinely help people suffering from chronic and complex health issues and environmental toxicities such as heavy metals, Lyme, and mold. Many factors contribute to disease and identifying and addressing these is imperative to regaining and optimizing health. Dr. Letitia understands, too, that the body is an integrated whole, and addressing lifestyle factors and emotional well-being is also critical to living a healthy and fulfilled life.

As a medical doctor, Dr. Letitia can use all forms of treatment as indicated or preferred by the patient, prescription or not. While conventional medicine often rushes patients through short, hurried visits, Dr. Letitia typically spends 2 to 2 1/2 hours on her initial visit to develop a nurturing relationship with her patients and gain a comprehensive understanding of each case. Follow-up visits are often an hour or more and scheduled as needed to follow or adjust the patient’s healing journey. Through advanced testing protocols, herbal, medical, and nutrient support, and therapies such as ozone and Prolozone, Dr. Letitia helps her patients in their journey to better health.

Dr. Letitia trained in Functional Medicine and Environmental medicine, including Mold, Lyme, and Heavy metals, with The Institute for Functional Medicine, Functional Medicine University, The American College for the Advancement in Medicine, Ozone Therapy Inc., International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society, The Kalish Institute, and others. She has studied with renowned Functional Medicine, Lyme, and Mold specialists. She has achieved certifications and special training in IV and oxidative injection therapies, the chelation of heavy metals, comprehensive hormone therapy, Organic Acids, Gastrointestinal health, detoxification, metabolism, oxidative stress, and nutritional healing. Other practice areas include bioidentical hormones, cognitive health, thyroid health, mood issues, bone and joint health, adrenal health and stress support, immune support and autoimmunity, infections, inflammation, athletic optimization, food sensitivities, and Post-Acute Covid and Long Covid.

Dr. Letitia is a graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Her General Surgery Residency was at Mary Imogene Bassett and Columbia Presbyterian Hospitals.  Her Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training was at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA, where she was also the Chief Resident of the Burn Unit. She completed her Hand Surgery fellowship at the  Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute, NY, NY, and an Adjunct Cosmetic Fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, NY, NY. Dr. Letitia’s Surgical rotations included Vascular Surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center; Trauma, Pediatric, Chest, and General Surgery at Columbia Presbyterian College of Physicians and Surgeons; Transplant Surgery at Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA; Trauma Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA; Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, NY. She was in private practice in Stamford, CT in Plastic, reconstructive and Hard Surgery, with appointments at Stamford and Greenwich Hospitals in CT and Glover Hospital in MA; she also had academic privileges at Yale University.

Dr. Letitia is also on the board of Directors of Genetic Networks, a biotech company focusing on drug discovery for genetic diseases and infections.
